HCT Group staff at our Ash Grove Red Bus operation in Hackney have been honoured at two separate awards ceremonies for their outstanding work.

Customer service

Nadine Allen, a driver on route 394 based at Ash Grove, has won the Hello London Award for Outstanding Customer Service at Transport for London's (TfL's) annual London Bus Awards. Nadine received her award at a glittering reception held at the Hilton London Bankside on Thursday night.

The Hello London Award for Outstanding Customer Service is for a driver who excels at putting the passenger first at all times, going the extra mile and ensuring that passengers have a safe and comfortable ride. The judges decided that Nadine’s approach to customer service as a bus driver is both genuinely inspiring and represents the very best in our industry.

Jane Desmond, HCT Group Chief Operating Officer, who attended the awards to support Nadine, said “I am absolutely delighted that Nadine has won this award. It is a great achievement for her, and, as this is the fourth year out of five that we’ve won this award, a great achievement for everyone at Ash Grove.”

Keeping passengers safe

At a separate event, two more Ash Grove colleagues have been recognised for the excellence of their work. Our CCTV Team, Simon Samuda and Rahman Zaman, won the award for Most Improved CCTV Data Control Room at the Metropolitan Police and TfL Bus CCTV Awards, which recognise excellence in the use and management of on-bus CCTV.

Dai Powell, HCT Group Chief Executive, said “I’d like to congratulate our award-winners at Ash Grove on their achievements. I believe that these awards are a testament not only to their hard work and dedication, but also to the work of our entire operations team.”
