The programme began in April with thirteen frontline staff who in their own words said they 'didn't know much about social enterprise'.  Four months later, after sessions in Bristol, Leeds and London, the Champions attended HCT's annual Social Impact launch and presented to investors, stakeholders and board members about their experiences.

Many spoke about how specific charities and social enterprises such as The Real Junk Fund Project in Leeds and the Severn Project in Bristol had inspired them.  Others spoke about how visiting some of the community groups we support and seeing the impact HCT has, made their job mean so much more.  It was clear to all that this was a group who’d been on a journey, physically and emotionally – a group who understood, felt passionately and were keen change the world.  Throughout the programme we blogged and tweeted about our journey and one follower, Rodney Schwartz CEO and founder of Social Investor ClearlySo, commented that 'this is what soc ent is all about’.

The Champions have now ‘graduated’ and returned to their depots to spread the social enterprise world, inspire their colleagues and deliver even more impact along the way.

Congratulations to Champions and thanks as ever to Ronnie Hughes and Tracey Vickers.
