In the last week of May 2015 our Social Enterprise Champions gathered in Leeds with group leader Ronnie Hughes, for a second round of talking about, investigating, questioning and exploring Social Enterprise.

They continued to look in detail at what HCT Group actually do as a Social Enterprise and to find other ethical and inspirational places to learn from.  During this second event of the programme we told stories of our places with HCT supported day care centre Caring Together, debated waste and hunger with a radical food enterprise The Real Junk Food Project and found how Social Enterprise can help the homeless at Emmaus. The Champions also did a morning’s Travel Training, experiencing what it's like to navigate a place when at a disadvantage.

It was an 'eye-opening' session, to quote one the champions, and one they'll all be thinking about for some time to come.

Many thanks to Group Leader Ronnie Hughes from A Sense of Place, Gary Young, Mandy Brown, Anna and the travel buddies for the travel training experiences and all the places who kindly hosted us.
