Earlier this month, HCT Group launched the 2015 Social Enterprise Champions Programme. Thirteen frontline staff including drivers, engineers and travel trainers from Leeds, Wakefield, London, Jersey, Guernsey and Bristol were nominated by their managers to learn more about Social Enterprise and how HCT supports the communities we work in.

The first session was held in Bristol where we visited the Severn Project, a social enterprise urban farm, Young Bristol, National Trust property Tyntesfield Estate, and finally the South Asian Daycare Centre, one of BCT’s longest running partners.

HCT Group supports many of these groups by providing minibuses and drivers, enabling children to get to activity centres and the elderly to social interact by attending a weekly community group.

It was an incredibly inspiring few days, and our Champions went back to their local depots keen to tell their colleagues all about Social Enterprise and how HCT can make a difference.

Many thanks to Group Leader Ronnie Hughes from A Sense of Place.
