Ash Grove driver Mohammed scoops customer service prize

Mohammed Shabir, a driver on route W12 based at Ash Grove in Hackney, has won the Year of the Bus award for outstanding customer service at the London Bus Awards 2014

Mohammed received his award from Leon Daniels, TfL’s managing director of surface transport, at a glittering reception held at a central London hotel on Thursday night.

The Year of the Bus award for outstanding customer service is for a driver who excels at putting the passenger first at all times. They will have demonstrated an understanding of what passengers want from their bus service. They will be polite, knowledgeable, and ensure that passengers have a safe and comfortable ride. The judges decided that Mohammed’s approach to customer service as a bus driver on route W12 is both genuinely inspiring and represents the very best in our industry.

Dai Powell, HCT Group Chief Executive, who attended the awards to support Mr Shabir said “I am absolutely delighted that Mohammed has won this award. It is a great achievement for him, and, as this is the third year in a row we’ve won this award, a great achievement for everyone at Ash Grove.”
