CT Plus, a subsidiary of HCT Group, is very disappointed to inform our customers that Unite has announced a one day strike on Wednesday 16 December. This will affect the four London bus routes CT Plus operates; 153, 388, 394 and W13. During the last Unite strike on 27 November, we were able to ensure that a partial service operated on some of these routes, and we hope to again be able to provide some services on Wednesday.

In the ballot to strike, only 41 people voted in favour – just 27% of the workforce. Unite has rejected a pay increase of 2.25%. We think this offer is a generous one particularly when it is compared to the pay offers that most Londoners have received recently.  It is also one of the best pay increases offered in the transport sector nationally.   Accepting the current offer would result in our drivers earning over £12 per hour from next April.

We have offered further talks with Unite. We urge them to reconsider their position to prevent further disruption to passengers.

The bus service for construction workers at the Olympic Park site that HCT jointly operates with ECT Group will not be affected.

We will be issuing an update on the morning of the 16 December to the local media, in order to keep our customers informed about how their bus routes have been affected.  Further information, including details on alternative transport routes, will be available at the Transport for London website (www.tfl.gov.uk).
