We are delighted to announce the publication of our first Impact Report which covers the period 2007/08.  We unveiled it at Voice 09, the UK’s landmark event for social enterprise.

It showcases our commercial success and business approach.  We currently generate a healthy income from delivering 27,500 passenger trips every day.  97 per cent of our income is derived from contracts won through competitive tender in the open market.  HCT’s commercial services enable us to invest our profits into non-commercial community transport and training, making a difference to the lives of people in the communities in which we operate.  

Since our inception 26 years ago, we have grown from a small organisation delivering local services in East London to a thriving business that applies the company’s original ethos and the knowledge base we have acquired over the years to deliver mainstream, community and specialist transport and training services all over London and in Yorkshire.  Dai Powell, Chief Executive of HCT Group and Social Enterprise Ambassador, said:

“This report demonstrates that the core of our business is delivering contracts to enable marginalised sections of society to be mobile, pursue new opportunities and access the services that we all need to live full and enriching lives.  But, as the report records, our innovative business model also enables us to do much, much more.”
